Andrew F. O'Hara  (nickname:  Andy)

Andrew O’Hara was born and raised in California, spending much of his boyhood on a small farm in the Sacramento Valley.  Raised by an artist father, Andrew traveled the valley as his father painted the countryside and residents.  This allowed him unique insight and appreciation into the people and beauty of this special valley.

As a California Highway Patrolman, Andrew also spent much of his career patrolling the urban and rural highways of the area and seeing its people at their best, worst, and most vulnerable.  Now retired from the highway patrol and working for Kaiser Hospital in Roseville, he is beginning a major full length novel about the valley he has come to love.

He currently lives in Citrus Heights, north of Sacramento, with his wife, Lisa.

His book The Swan, Tales of the Sacramento Valley was published in March of 2004. He is currently working on a second novel.

Andy is a veteran of the USAF He was an enlisted man , E-4, with the Air Police, 1965 - 1969.  His duty stations included Taiwan, Clark AFB, Travis AFB.  He had volunteered for assignment to Viet Nam in '66, which took him to Clark for 6 months, standing by for deployment but his squadron was returned to Taiwan.

Andy: "I like people who are genuine."   His favorite quotes:  "What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say" and "If you can't laugh at yourself, someone will come along and do it for you."
