SACRAMENTO BOOK FAIR A SUCCESS!

There were 54 authors in attendance at the July 3rd Book Fair. The fair was
covered the preceding weeks by 12 different newspapers and two radio stations.
Local authors also made appearances on 4 different local television stations
with the final coverage on Friday morning when when Channel 31 interviewed Bill
McDonald about the book fair along with author Nan Mahon.

Holiday Book and Art Festival Slated for
Sacramento
The AAA Advisory Board has given its approval for the group to begin
planning a weekend holiday book event for December 2004 at the Florin Mall in
Sacramento.
There will be a formal announcement when final plans are made. Artist as well as
writers will be invited along with those who make handcrafted items.
New AAA Board VP - Joe Fabel
Joe Fabel has been selected to be a member of the AAA Advisory
Board. His title will be that of Vice President of the
Advisory Board and he will be in charge and coordinating all AAA events.
Nominations for 2004 Writing Awards Now Open
The AAA will be continuing to recognize outstanding books and has opened
up the nomination process to all interested writers, publishers and agents. All
that you need to do is submit a copy of your book. State what award category your
book fits. A brief overview of the book and short bio would be helpful but not
required. The book does not need to have been published in 2004 (all books
printed from January 2000 are eligible). These awards are for Self-published
and POD book titles - POD publishing houses and small printing companies
may submit books on behalf of their authors.
To enter your book for an award the deadline is December 1st 2004. Send a
copy of the book(s) to:

No books will be returned. If the AAA already has a copy of your
book it is not necessary to send another - you will automatically be considered
each year for awards.
Awards to be announced before March 1st 2005.

awards can have their awards made for them at their own cost. (No kick
backs or fees paid to the AAA) The official awards are made by a C & T
