The Poetry of

 Allen Schmeltz

     Friends

Friends in good times,

Friends in bad,

Friends when your happy,

Friends when your sad.

Friendship is the mortar,

That holds us together,

Friendship makes burdens,

Light as a feather.

Friends when together,

Friends when apart,

Time and space--meaningless,

It's all in the heart.

Unconditional, non-judging,

Asking naught in return,

Understanding, accepting,

From each friend we learn.

So to you I give friendship,

My arms open wide,

For I always feel blessed,

With you by my side.

~The Sea~

White Foam
    The roar of crashing waves
The iridescent hues of green
    Colors found nowhere else
The cool, cold, crisp, pure, salt laden air, breeze, wind,
    Cleansing, healing...

My senses are filled as nowhere else
I am close to God, one with God, one with All
The master said, "I am the bubble, make me the sea."
I say, "I am the bubble, I am the sea."

If my allotted days where filled
    With nothing more
Than watching, feeling, inhaling,
    The ever changing sea,

I would be rich beyond measure...
